When looking for a rental, be sure to check various bulletin boards around town. Some good ones to check out are in Princeville near the Foodland grocery store, Kapaa in front of Papaya's, Lihue outside the Big Save Grocery Store, (808) 245-6571, in Kalaheo outside the Kalaheo Coffee Company and Café, (808) 332-8523 and at Steve's Mini Mart (808) 332-9220, and in Anahola outside the Whaler's General Store, next to the Post Office.

Building a House
The Permitting Process
Submit 5 sets of plans to County of Kauai Building Division, 808-241-6655.Fill out Building Division building permit application. A preliminary evaluation will determine the final building permit fee. 15% of that final fee will be assessed for a plan review fee. Plans will be routed to appropriate agencies (Planning, Engineering, etc.). Permits will then become finalized by the Building Division.
